Women In Technology Announces Publication of Technology Leadership Book

T.E.N. CEO, Marci McCarthy Featured in WIT’s First Book

Atlanta – December 12, 2010--Women In Technology (WIT) is announcing today the upcoming publication of its first book, CLIMB: Leading Women In Technology Share Their Journeys To Success. CLIMB features more than 60 profiles of leaders influencing Atlanta’s business, academic and technology landscapes, including Women of the Year in Technology Award recipients, WIT presidents, and key WIT supporters and volunteers.

“These powerful and poignant contributions illustrate challenging and often humorous leadership lessons that can impact readers of all ages and gender,” said Sandy Hofmann, president of WIT, Inc. and co-editor of CLIMB. “These extraordinary women have generously shared their invaluable experience, advice, and journeys that will inspire leaders in this generation and the next.”

Marci McCarthy has been profiled as a leader in our technology community. McCarthy is currently the CEO of Tech Exec Networks (T.E.N.). She has earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Babson College, and resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Her contribution is titled 'New, New and New - A Time of Firsts'. “As I reflect on my career, I found that regardless of which industry you are in – or your state in the industry – what matters above all are the relationships. Relationships are what bind us together, move us forward and make us successful."

CLIMB also describes efforts by WIT and The WIT Foundation to support the next generation of women through pre-career programs encouraging girls to study and work in STEM-related careers (science, technology, engineering and math.)  Net proceeds from book sales will provide additional funding for the WIT Foundation.

CLIMB is available online through WIT’s website (www.mywit.org/buy-the-book), as well as at WIT signature events and forums. The book will be available on www.amazon.com in 2011.
